Great Places in Utah to take your Campers this Spring

  • Posted on Apr 15, 2018

Spring is finally here and that means we can all start to make the most of the warmer weather and get out there to enjoy it with our campers. And no matter where you are in the United States, you can’t argue with just how fantastic the scenery is in Utah. The Southwest United States is filled with interesting and varied landscapes, which makes the area a great place for exploring with your expedition trailers.

Sheep camps, trailers and campers are ideal for packing up your family and hitting the road to discover the great outdoors, as well as enjoying memorable vacations together. And with Utah boasting five national parks, you can guarantee there will be enough wild nature to satisfy even the most adventurous in your family.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon is one of Utah’s ‘Mighty 5’ national parks and home to the world’s largest collection of hoodoos (tall, thin natural towers of rock formed from the erosion of land)! Inside the national park there are a couple of campgrounds, where you can set up your campers for the night, or several. The North Campground is open all year and is well located for hitting the hiking trails and for heading to Sunrise Point, where you can marvel at the amazing sunrises with views over the canyons and hoodoos.

There are several other campgrounds around the national park that offer facilities such as electricity and general stores, and there are also places you set up camp without checking into a developed campground. Around half an hour’s drive to the west of Bryce Canyon, Dixie National Forest can be a great place for camping in the wilderness. So-called dispersed camping means you can get a true wild camping experience, without any other campers or any facilities, letting you have a more authentic camping trip surrounded by nature and adventure.

Ashley National Forest

In northeastern Utah, just east of Salt Lake City, you’ll find Ashley National Forest, an area of over a million acres of natural landscapes; and the perfect place for camping. With expedition trailers you can camp comfortably in the forest, knowing you have a fully kitted out shelter to welcome you home after a day out in the wilderness.

There are numerous campgrounds within Ashley National Forest, as well as plenty of good spots where you could park up your campers away from the traditional campgrounds. Within the forest there are hiking trails, including a trail up to Utah’s highest mountain, Kings Peak (13,528 feet), and opportunities for fishing, swimming and boating. The area around Flaming Gorge is known to have some of the best fishing in Utah, as well as some spectacular scenery around the canyons and the High Uintas Wilderness.

Whether you’re seeking solitude and longing to get back to nature or looking for family outdoor adventures in the wilderness, Utah can offer both. And campers can be the ideal camping accessory to make your trip all the more comfortable. So if you’re thinking of getting you and your family closer to nature, pack up your trailers and head off to experience the wild and natural beauty of Utah this spring.

“First, thanks for all of the help and patience in preparing to order our camp. You made sure that we really got what we wanted. From the time we picked up our camp we have really enjoyed it. It pulls great, and is easy to park and set up. This camp is so comfortable. Cooking and cleaning is easy, and everything is easy to get to. You can have people in and not feel crowded. We have camped in camp grounds, by lakes, and in the hills hunting with no problems. We like camping in it best when it is cold so we can use the wood stove. There is nothing cozier than that stove. Summer is nice to; the windows are placed so there is good ventilation. The door coming in from the front is more secure feeling. The kids are fighting over who will inherit it, but we are determined to wear it out before that happens.”
